I never blame others for my failures.

The feeling of responsibility accompanies me in competitions, when I represent not only myself, but my country, as well. When it’s hard, this feeling always gives me some additional strength.

When pursuing a purpose, the most important thing is to be consistent and work hard. When you’re not faring well, it’s essential to not give up and keep moving toward your purpose, because only those who don’t stop in their tracks can reach their goal.

Rushed decisions are never going to give positive results in the long run. I take all big decisions only after long contemplations and considerations. Of course, there are situations in life that need immediate action. The necessity to decide at the spur of the moment is very common in sports.

Being the strongest man in the world means I fulfilled my purpose that I have been trying to achieve for so many years and that the effort I put in didn’t go to waste. On the other hand, the road towards a purpose and the process of achieving it is much more interesting and pleasant than the purpose itself. The purpose is just an evaluation of your work.

The best piece of advice that I ever got is to not denounce people that think differently or have different beliefs. I used to squint suspiciously at people that don’t care about their health and have unhealthy habits. People have to be accepted as they are. I don’t think it’s right to judge for being different.

It is essential to understand the meaning of life. In my opinion, meaning of life is a constant search for knowledge and spiritual improvement. Life was given to us to learn as much as possible. Every day I try to learn something new.

There is no point arguing with stubborn people who already have an unshakeable opinion. It’s a waste of time and it leads to pointless frustration. If there can be no rational discussion, it’s better not to get involved in arguments.

I don’t pay much attention to the opinion of others. To the contrary, some people pay too much attention to what other people think of them and are vulnerable to the criticism. It doesn’t affect me at all. Sometimes it is much more important to do things that gives you joy and not the others.

Long time ago I realised that there is nothing more important than good and decent people around you. It’s simple, really. Thanks to them life is better, nobler and there’s more love in the world. The more love we give to others, the more we receive.

Moving and living healthy provides happiness and improves quality of life. I noticed that active people are much more cheerful, healthier and capable to take the most out of their lives.

I wish that Lithuanians were even more friendly, love each other and their country more. We would all benefit from this. It’s quite simple, when people around you are feeling good, so do you.

Plenitude. It cannot be experienced without family and loved ones. They will be the ones who will be there for you in good and bad times. They will be that pilar you can count on during hard times.

My greatest motivation is desire. When you want something so much, everything goes easier, at least for me. Of course, when someone asks me where do I get my motivation from, I always say I don’t know. I think I am motivated by nature. If I have a goal or a dream, I do everything to make it come true.

I will never forget the day I became the strongest man in the world. At that moment I forgot all my failures and aches, and understood that I finally achieved the very thing I was reaching for for so long. But this joy didn’t last very long, because I suddenly realised that after this goal is reached life will not stop and new challenges and goals have to be set.

No matter how hard we try, we can’t change the world. It has to be accepted the way it is, with all the good and bad things included. Having said that, we have to give our best shot at making this world a better place.

I will never forget meeting Arnold Schwarzenegger. From the very beginning of my career he was my role model and I always aspired to be like him. Our first meeting was accidental, he approached me while I was doing my warm-up before the competition. It was an unforgettable impression.

The tricolour reminds me of triumphs in competitions – when you win, the flag of your country is raised.

There is no greater responsibility and honour to represent your own country. I must always try my best, fight until the very end and try to be the greatest when defending our country’s name.

I am a patriot of Lithuania. It’s a country where I was born, raised and matured as an individual. I love it here; the people, the nature — it’s wonderful! I visited close to a hundred countries, but there is no other place like home.
